Stay Sonder
Why I Am Committed to Fighting Human Trafficking
My own commitment to this cause began in high school, when I first learned about human trafficking and its impact on vulnerable youth. At just fifteen, I created a clothing brand called Stay Sonder and launched a website to raise awareness about trafficking and promote positive mental health. This early work taught me the power of using my voice, creativity, and platforms to shed light on an issue many prefer to ignore.
Today, as a psychology student, that early passion has only deepened. Through my studies, I have seen how trafficking survivors are often left to navigate long-term emotional wounds: fear, shame, and isolation, even after they escape physical danger. I am passionate about building a future where mental health professionals understand trauma, help restore safety and dignity, and empower survivors to rebuild their lives.
My Ongoing Commitment
What began as a high school effort to spread awareness has grown into a lifelong mission. As I continue my psychology education, I remain committed to standing against human trafficking, combining advocacy with a passion for mental health. Survivors need more than rescue; they need safety, healing, and the chance to reclaim their lives. My goal is to be part of that journey; to help create a world where exploitation is confronted, and every person’s dignity is restored.
